The Solvents Games
The Solvents do not only do theatre. They also create
innovative games, designed to make the most of our everyday experience.
Here are just some of them...

What's Needed: A few sheets of paper, a pen, preferably a partner.
Step 1: Choose a few objects around
you. If you are in a house, it can be a door, fridge, stove, table, wall
whatever you like.
Step 2: Then take a few sheets of paper each and draw
a face expression that relates to the object you chose. It should be
the
kind of face that expresses how you personally feel about the object
you selected. Do this for each object you selected in Step 2.
Step 3: If you're doing it with a partner, don't look into
each other's images. Don't
make
the drawings too
complicated,
for instance, two dots for the eyes, and a line for the mouth is enough.
The face can be smiling, frowning, or doing whatever else you like.
Step 4: Then each of you, one at a time, needs to take the sheets of
paper with your faces, and attach them to the objects around you.
Outcome: You will then be able to see how you perceive the objects
around yourself and how your partner perceives them. The realizations
that you
might
have might completely change your perception and even make you move things
around. For example, if you realize this old table has a particularly
bad face expression, you might want to get rid of it. Or maybe some corner
has a lot of stuff that look particularly happy, maybe that's the best
place to spend your evenings?

The Introduction: You must all know Google.
If not, visit www.google.com a great search engine that can find
anything on the internet.
It's so easy: you just type in what you need,
and Google will bring thousands of results within seconds. Also,
Google has a very interesting feature called "I'm Feeling Lucky".
Just type in your word, click "I'm Feeling Lucky" and Google
will bring you directly to the first thing it can think of related to
your query.
Now, The Solvents, take this whole Google thing one step further.
What's Needed: You need a partner. It's better if you
are a few people: more fun.
The game can be done anywhere, even on the rocks, as depicted above.
Step 1: You should choose one person to be The Google.
Step 2: The Google gets into stand-by mode, and the
others start shouting their queries (one word or
a short phrase) to The Google. Do this one at a time and respect your
partners. For example, you can shout "milk" and The Google should find
milk or anything that relates to it (exactly like Google would do).
Step 3: The Google should present the result or the answer as soon
as it is possible.
Step 4: Do
it a
few times
and
then
change
the roles: the person who was shouting becomes The Google and the person
who was googling before starts to shout.
Tip: If you like competitive games, you may use a chronometer.
Calculate the average time each person takes to produce satisfactory
results and obviously the one who can do it the fastest will be the winner!
If you know about a particularly good Google person, please, let
us know immediately.
